Who We Are
We are the people who actually keep the lights on.
Angry Pixies is a site for IT professionals who have seen it all, fixed it twice, and documented none of it because management canceled the wiki budget in 2014. We aren’t angry at users. Users are just trying to get their emails. We’re angry at the vendors who promise ‘enterprise-grade’ simplicity and deliver a proprietary CLI that breaks every time you look at it wrong. We’re angry at the ‘digital transformation’ initiatives that amount to moving on-prem spaghetti code to a cloud instance that costs three times as much and does half the work.
Who This Is For
This site is for:
- The L1 techs who are actually L3 because the ticketing system doesn’t have an ‘escalate’ button that works.
- The sysadmins with a
known_issues/folder older than some of their coworkers. - The helpdesk veterans who are tired of explaining that ‘turning it off and on again’ doesn’t fix the corrupted registry key caused by the mandatory security update.
- Anyone who has ever had to justify an expensive emergency part replacement for a server that has been held together with duct tape, hope, and a prayer since 2012.
Our Philosophy
We believe in dry, earned cynicism. We don’t punch down. We don’t fake outrage. We just share the stories, the laughs, and the occasional tip for surviving another day in the infrastructure trenches. If you’ve ever had to explain to a manager why we can’t just ‘use AI’ to fix a legacy mainframe integration issue, you’re home.
